During one of our very first camps we met Lauren Holman, a young girl that knows how to rock the water. She moved to the Turks & Caicos Islands, a kitesurf paradise and tells us about her daily live and the beauty of this island.
‘I am so happy to call the Turks and Caicos Islands home for the season this winter. Living and working here has been a dream of mine for the past year and I am excited to see it become a reality over the next few months.
Turks and Caicos is a small Caribbean island with beautiful beaches, consistent winds, tropical vibes, friendly locals, and most importantly, world-class kiting! While I am living here and kiting as much as possible, I am also working as kite instructor at KiteProvo. I have the best office in the world: Long Bay Beach. The picturesque, white sand stretches for miles. Turquoise waters seem endless as the water is waist-deep for as far out as you can walk. This makes Long Bay ideal for teaching, progressing, and learning new tricks. It is a huge advantage to be able to stand up in the water when you make a mistake!
My days here consist of morning coffees in the hammock, yoga and stretching, a few hours of lessons, and then time to PLAY! That is the best part of my day. When all the work is done, the wind is pumping, the sun is out, and it is time to pump up my own kites to hit the water for an awesome kite session. It is a dream to live in a place like this for the winter, making a living and pursuing my passion every day. Come and visit me in TCI and see what this magnificent island to see for yourself!
